A MAN stabbed several times staggered about 150 metres to his mother's home before collapsing at the door step, his mother has told adelaidenow.
The injured man, 34, had been with several others at a nearby Lawhill Crt house, Taperoo, before an altercation happened.
Blood spots were visible on the roadway leading to his mother's house at Orungal Crt.
She said she was woken just after midnight by loud banging at the door.
"He said, 'I've been stabbed, mum'," said the mother, who did not wish to be identified. "He went into shock and started sweating."
Police were called to Orungal Ct , just after midnight, where they found the Taperoo man with three stab wounds to his torso.
He was treated by paramedics and taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.
Police said the incident was not believed to be random and that the suspect and victim were known to each other.
No weapon has been found.
