FIREFIGHTERS saved neighbouring properties from a house fire but not before the blaze caused up to $150,000 damaged to the western suburbs home this morning.
The MFS received several 000 emergency calls about the fire at 5.45am and rushed to the house at Ritchie Tce, Marleston, to find the front of the property ablaze.
It took 18 firefighters to contain the blaze to the house, which was unoccupied at the time, and fire investigators are determining the cause of the fire.
In a separate incident, a pile of rubbish caught fire at a northern suburbs warehouse and needed 45 firefighters to bring it under control.
The estimated 30sq m of burning rubbish at Peachy Rd, Elizabeth West, was spotted by a motorist who alerted authorities about 4.30am.
Fire crews from eight MFS and three CFS units took 30 minutes to contain the blaze.
