Where there's smoke, there's cannabis

A SUSPECTED fire has led to the discovery of a cannabis crop at Royal Park.

Police and Metropolitan Fire Service crews were called to a vacant business at the intersection of Cedar Ave and Pine St, about 11.30pm, after reports of smoke in the area.

Firefighters took about 20 minutes to clear the smoke, believed to have been caused by an electrical fault, and a search of the premises found 12 large cannabis plants in two rooms.

Secret cannabis bunker found

A HIDDEN underground bunker, used for cultivating cannabis has been uncovered at a Mt Pleasant property.

A search of the remote property by detectives revealed a sophisticated hydroponic cultivation room.

A total of 12 cannabis plants were growing in the bunker and a further two cannabis plants were growing nearby.

A 44-year-old man, the occupant of the property, was reported for cultivating cannabis and firearms offences.

He will appear in the Tanunda Magistrates Court at a later date.
