Quake 10km from Kangaroo Island

A MINOR earthquake has been recorded offshore from Kangaroo Island in the Investigator Strait.

The magnitude 3.3 quake's epicentre was about 10km of the northern coast of Kangaroo Island and about 25km from Kingscote when it hit just before 8.30pm yesterday.

Geoscience Australia estimated the quake could have been felt within a radius of about 30km, covering parts of northern Kangaroo Island, including Kingscote, but not the South Australian mainland.
