Arsonists light series of small fires at Aldinga

POLICE are investigating a series of deliberately lit fires in Aldinga this morning.

A resident called 000 just before 3am after spotting a group of youths lighting a bush in the front of a display home on Wild Orchid Drive.

Police discovered up to six small fires had been lit along the road after arriving a short time later.

The fires burned out before taking hold.

Arsonists set Davoren Park fires

POLICE say a series of fires in the Davoren Park area overnight were deliberately lit.

Numerous fires were lit in quick succession between 3.40am and 3.50am.

Offenders set fire to trees and shrubs in Westwood and Bratton streets, and to the front porch of a house in Sandford Rd. The occupants of the Sandford Rd house managed to extinguish the fire before it caused serious damage.

Two male youths were seen walking along the railway tracks nearby at this time.

CFS battles Delamere fires

The CFS is battling multiple fires near Delamere on the southern Fleurieu Peninsula.

People near Three Bridges Rd, Tapanapa Rd and Black Bullock Rd are urged to monitor local conditions.

The fires as yet do not pose a threat to life and property but people in the area are advised to check and follow their bushfire survival plan.

Road users are advised to use caution in the area as smoke may significantly reduce visibility.

People in the affected area are advised to close all doors and windows and stay indoors.
