NEW turf and landscaped grounds are among the new operator's plans for Lochiel Park's par-three golf course.

Belair Turf Management was this month awarded the tender to manage and maintain the course, which was previously run by Belgravia Leisure and maintained by the Bedford Group.

Belair director Simon Ford said the arrangement would benefit local golfers.

"There's a fair bit to gain in improving the turf and we're also looking at landscaping a beautifying the grounds around the pro shop," he said.

"But we will have to get on the ground before we can formulate any specific plans."

Mr Ford said existing opening times and course fees would not be affected when the site changed hands in the next two months.

"There will be no reduction in services once we take control, in fact we're hoping we will improve those services over time," he said.

The 9ha course is on Crown land but is under Campbelltown Council's care and control.

Belair Turf Management already manages and maintains golf courses at Marion, North Haven, Salisbury Green and North Lakes.
