P-plater loses licence for speeding on S-E Freeway

AN Adelaide Hills P-plater has lost his licence after being caught speeding on the South Eastern Freeway.

The man, 29, was clocked travelling at 159km/h in a 110km/h zone near Mount Barker at 1.35pm.

He received an immediate loss of licence for six months.

Acting Inspector Shane Johnson, Acting Operations Manager, Hills Fleurieu Local Service Area said the Easter period was a particularly busy time for police in the Hills Fleurieu Local Service Area and issued a caution to motorists.

"We ask all road users; be aware of the increased number of vehicles on the roads this Easter," he said.

"Please be patient and pay attention while driving.

"Enjoy your holidays, and make sure you return home safely."
