Grass fire on Eyre Peninsula contained

THE threat posed by a bushfire burning near Whites Flat on Lower Eyre Peninsula has reduced.

The fire started about 2pm near Whites Flat Rd, north of Port Lincoln, and burnt out of control before being contained late this afternoon.

The CFS advises that although the threat to people's safety has reduced some risks may still be present.

Smoke may still be present, visibility may be reduced and there may be falling trees.

You should check your property for any fires and embers - particularly in roof spaces, under decks, raised floors and in gutters.
