Mother 'sexually abused own kids'

A MOTHER and her former partner have been arrested over the sexual exploitation of her children.

The 35-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man were charged with persistent sexual exploitation of a child and the man has also been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.

Police said the pair, both from the southern suburbs, was arrested following an investigation into the alleged acts committed against the woman's two sons, aged 6 and 7.

"The man arrested was the de-facto partner at the time of the offending, which police will allege occurred in Edwardstown between November 2011 and November 2012," a spokesman said.

Both accused were bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on April 26.

The children are now in the care of Families SA.

In an unrelated incident earlier this month, Holden Hill Magistrates Court heard that an Adelaide school teacher sexually abused and photographed two girls while their mother participated and their brother was forced to watch..
